French banking giant Societe Generale-FORGE’s crypto subsidiary, SG-FORGE, has teamed up with Bitpanda to enhance access to its EUR CoinVertible (EURCV) stablecoin. In a joint announcement, the companies aim to boost the adoption of stablecoins across Europe by listing EURCV on Bitpanda’s brokerage platform, thereby making it available to a wider range of investors.
The EURCV stablecoin is fully backed by Euros and issued on the Ethereum public blockchain, ensuring compliance with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations.
Promoting Digital Asset Adoption in Europe
SG-FORGE highlighted that this partnership with Bitpanda underscores a mutual commitment to advancing the use of digital assets, particularly stablecoins, within Europe. In December, the French bank had already listed EURCV on the Luxembourg-based Bitstamp crypto exchange.
Jean-Marc Stenger, CEO of SG-FORGE, stated, “We are dedicated to providing European users with a stable, secure, and accessible digital asset for trading, settlement, and as a store of value.”
With Bitpanda’s infrastructure, EURCV is expected to facilitate daily transactions, cross-border payments, and remittances throughout Europe. The stability offered by stablecoins allows users to engage in the digital economy without the volatility often associated with traditional cryptocurrencies.
