World of Women (WoW) is an NFT project that focuses on celebrating diversity and inclusivity by featuring images of unique women. The partnership with FC Barcelona allows WoW to spotlight the resilience of women in sports, emphasizing the challenges they face and the progress they have made. The artist Rhi Madeline has created a transformative piece that symbolizes empowerment, aligning with the theme of the collection.
Launched in July 2021, WoW has quickly gained prominence in the NFT space, aiming to increase the representation of female artists and builders in the web3 world. With 189 different attributes reflecting 11 trait categories and 14 skin tones, WoW’s collection embodies the diversity and individuality of women.

The digital artwork showcases a significant moment in Alexia Putellas’ career during the Women’s Champions League semi-final match against Wolfsburg in 2022. Putellas’ exceptional performance, where she scored two crucial goals, played a vital role in leading her team to victory. The auction for the “Empowerment” NFT artwork will be held exclusively on the OpenSea marketplace. The NFT is minted on the Ethereum scaling network Polygon, addressing scalability and cost issues. Beyond the digital artwork, the buyer of the NFT will have the opportunity to meet Alexia Putellas, receive a signed pair of boots, and claim a physical seat from FC Barcelona’s stadium, autographed by the player. These physical items add extra value and collectibility to the NFT.
