Compound Labs reported a website compromise, advising users to avoid visiting or clicking links until further notice. Celer Network issued a similar warning three hours later, citing a potential DNS domain attack affecting multiple projects. However, Celer Network assured users that their systems and funds remain secure amidst the ongoing investigation.
Blockchain security experts, such as 0xngmi from DefiLlama and Samczsun from Paradigm, have commented on the issue, suggesting that vulnerabilities in Squarespace, the website registrar, could be connected to the breaches.
0xngmi highlighted concerns that approximately 65 other DeFi platform domains linked to Squarespace could be vulnerable. Prominent platforms like Pendle and dYdX are included in this list. He advised the community to refrain from accessing these websites until further notice.
“Consider transferring your domain to more secure options like Cloudflare, AWS Cloud, Route 53, MarkMonitor, or CSCDBS,” suggested Samczsun.
These recent incidents underscore the critical importance of security in DeFi. Affected platforms are anticipated to issue comprehensive updates as additional information emerges.
